Your data, in plain English

Nasib is a game for two people getting to know each other with marriage in mind. It is run by DGNA LTD, 66 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NA, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal data described on this page.

For anything about your data, email salam@nasib.me.

From each player:

• Your name, which you type when you start or join a game. Your partner sees it.
• Your email address, which you give us partway through Level 1 or when you sign in. Your partner does not see it.
• Your gender, from the first question of the game. We use it to show you the right wording for each question.
• Your game answers at every level, and the report we build from both players' answers. Your partner sees your answer to each question when you reveal it, and the report you share.
• Sign-in details: your email address, when you created your account and when you last signed in. Our database provider also records the IP address used to sign in, as part of its security logs.
• Game activity: when each player was last on the game page, which steps of the game you reached, and the website that sent the second player to their invite link (for example WhatsApp).
• Sign-in diagnostics: when a sign-in attempt fails, we record why (for example, the security check did not load), your browser type and version, and your device's operating system. We don't record your email, name or IP address with these, so they can't be linked to you.
• Payment records: if you pay, Stripe collects your card details and email on its own checkout page. We never see or store your card. We keep a record of the purchase: the amount, the date, its status and Stripe's reference numbers.

If you email us, we keep your email and our reply.

Some earlier players gave us a phone number. We no longer ask for one. If you'd like yours deleted, email salam@nasib.me.

Some questions ask about your faith and how you practise it, and your views on family life, children and fertility. Your answers can reveal your religious beliefs. UK data protection law treats this as special category data, which needs extra care.

We rely on your consent to store your answers, including those about faith. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing salam@nasib.me and we'll delete your data.

We use your answers only to run the game and build your report. We never use them for advertising, never sell them, and never use them to train AI.

The law requires a reason, called a legal basis, for each use. Here are ours.

Running the gameContract and consent

We use your name, gender and answers to run the game, show each of you the other's answers and build your report. We need them to provide the game you asked for, and we rely on your consent for answers about faith.

EmailsContract

We use your email address and first name to send your report and your sign-in links.

Signing inContract

We use your sign-in details and a sign-in cookie to keep you signed in and let you return to your games.

PaymentsContract and legal obligation

We use payment records to give your couple access to paid levels. Tax law also requires us to keep records of purchases.

Cloudflare's security check on the sign-in page stops automated sign-ups and abuse.

We use sign-in diagnostics and game activity to fix sign-in problems and see where players drop out of the game. We never use them to contact you or build a profile of you.

Only the Nasib team sees your data. We don't sell it, and we don't share it with anyone else.

We use these services to run Nasib. They handle your data only to provide their service to us.

SupabaseIreland (EU)

Our database and sign-in system. Holds everything listed above, except card details.

VercelIreland (EU), part of a worldwide network

Hosts the website. Every request passes through its servers, including your answers as you send them, and your IP address appears in short-lived server logs.

ResendUSA

Sends our emails. Receives your email address, first name and the link in the email.

StripeUSA and EU

Takes payments. Receives the card details and email you enter on its checkout page, and from us an account reference and a game reference, never your answers. Stripe also keeps its own records of payments, as the law requires.

Cloudflare TurnstileUSA and worldwide

The security check on the sign-in page. Receives your IP address and basic browser information, only on that page.

Google WorkspaceUSA

Runs our email inbox. Receives whatever you send to salam@nasib.me.

Google AnalyticsUSA, only if you accept

Visit statistics. Receives the pages you visit (including the game page address), your device type and approximate location.

Ireland is outside the UK but covered by UK adequacy regulations, so your data there has the same protection as in the UK. For the services in the USA, the transfer is protected by the UK Extension to the EU and US Data Privacy Framework, or by the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum to the standard contractual clauses.

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing salam@nasib.me, and we'll do so within one month.

If you paid, we may keep the record of your purchase for longer where tax law requires it.

You have the right to:

• get a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• have anything wrong corrected
• have your data deleted
• object to how we use it, or ask us to limit it
• take your data with you to another service
• withdraw your consent at any time, for your answers or for analytics cookies

To use any of these rights, email salam@nasib.me from the address you use with Nasib. If you never gave us an email, send us your game link so we can find your game. We reply within one month.

When we delete your data, your partner keeps their own answers, but your name, your answers and the reports you shared are removed. If your payment gave your couple access to paid levels, that access ends.

We use two kinds.

• Essential: a cookie that keeps you signed in (it lasts up to 400 days, or until you sign out), and Cloudflare's security check on the sign-in page. The site needs these to work, so we don't ask for permission.
• Analytics: Google Analytics cookies, only if you choose Accept on the cookie bar. If you decline or don't choose, Google Analytics never loads.

Your browser also stores your cookie choice and a few small settings that make the game work. These stay on your device and are never sent to us.

You can change your choice at any time: Cookie settings.

Nasib is for adults aged 18 and over. If you're under 18, please don't use it. If we learn we hold data about someone under 18, we delete it.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first at salam@nasib.me. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

When we change something important, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data we already hold about you, we'll email you before it takes effect.
